Week 368: Case 5

1. Presented by Peter Illei, M.D. and prepared by Joseph J. Maleszewski, M.D.

5-year-old male with clinical diagnosis of familial polyposis, however, no genetic testing was performed. He does have occasional loose stools with blood in them, but he has developed normally and grown and gained weight. He underwent a total abdominal colostomy with ileoanal anastomosis.

Macroscopically, there were five pedunculated and multiple (over 30) flat polyps identified. The pedunculated polyps measured up to 0.5 cm, whereas the flat polyps range from 0.1-0.3 cm.
