Week 207: Case 6

A 68-year-old man was found to have a 2 cm unilateral nodule on rectal examination. A needle biopsy revealed a minute focus of adenocarcinoma. Radical prostatectomy was performed with gross examination showing a 2 cm nodule in the mid prostate unilaterally in the peripheral zone with no evidence of BPH present elsewhere in the gland.
