Levi, M.D.A 45-year-old male with a history of dysphagia and heartburn, had multiple upper gastrointestinal biopsies and had been treated unsuccessfully for gastroesophageal reflux disease. At the time of the second biopsy, endoscopy revealed a granular, erythematous esophageal mucosa with multiple mucosal rings in the upper and lower esophagus.
